Melva Lou East

Mrs. Melva Lou Burcham East, age 80, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  She was born on February 23, 1940 in Carroll County to the late Guy Morgan and Ora William Burcham.  She was a loving wife, mother who will surely be missed by all who knew her.  Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Wayne East of the home; daughter, Sandra East; brother, Boyd Burcham as well as a sister, Iva Lizenby.  In addition to her parents Mrs. East was preceded in death by brothers, Clyde and Carl Burcham and a sister, Edna Kalstrom.  A private graveside service will be held at Round Peak Primitive Baptist Church.  There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
