Melva Kay Tucker Spurrier

Mrs. Melva Kay Tucker Spurrier, age 71, of Pinnacle, passed away March 2, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 4, 1953, in Surry County, to the late Raymond Melvin Tucker and the late Betty Lou Fulk Tucker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Douglas Robert Spurrier.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Nichole Blanton (Brian Zryd); her son and daughter-in-law, Tucker Spurrier and Bambi Shelton Spurrier; grandchildren Kylee Booker, and Tanzy Rae Spurrier; sister, Martha Raye Pfaff; brother, Raymond David Tucker; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Spurrier was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister who loved her family. She worked as an assistant schoolteacher at Shoals Elementary School, started Pilot Mountain Flowers and gifts, and was a member of Rescue Baptist Church. A graveside celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 8, 2025, in the Fairview Church of Shoals, with Rev. Timothy Morrison Officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shoals Elementary School Backpack Program, 1800 Shoals Road, Pinnacle NC 27043. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is serving the Spurrier family.
