Michael Conner

Michael Conner, age 55 of Woolwine, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Patrick County on March 31, 1955 to the late Nannie Ruth Conner Pack. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Chase Conner; and a brother, Marcus Conner. He was a retired Sgt. with the United States Army having served in Desert Storm.
Mr. Conner is survived by one daughter, Heather Lacoma of Lawton, Oklahoma; one son, Mikey Conner of Lawton, Oklahoma; three step-children, Stephanie Sosbee, Chris Woodis and Jason Tyson; five grandchildren, Jordan Hopkins, Frankie Lacoma, Aiden Lacoma, Mason Conner and Bree Meredith; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan and Terry Williams of Woolwine, Jeanette and Ellis Belcher of Woolwine, Donna Jewell of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Diane Gillispie of Ferrum; one brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Rhonda Conner of Russell Springs, Kentucky; and one sister-in-law, Sonja Conner of Claudville.
Memorial services for Mr. Conner will be held Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at his home on 1027 Brammer Spur Road, Woolwine, with Elder Donnie Conner officiating and with military rites conducted by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. A visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to the Smith River Rescue Squad, P.O.
