Michael Lynn Cox

Mr. Michael Lynn Cox, 60, of 120 Mulberry Drive, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2012, at his home. Mr. Cox was born October 5, 1951, in Surry County, one of nine children born to the late Rhoten Garfield and Mabel Easter Cox. Michael owned and operated South Main Drive-In and was a member of Bannertown Baptist Church. He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Ronnie Simpson of Mount Airy; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Shelby Cox of Claudville, VA, Jimmy and Gail Cox of Winston-Salem, and Dennis and Brenda Cox of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cox was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Margaret Cox; and three brothers, Ted Cox, Jake Cox, and Paul Cox. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Mickey Cogdill officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
