Michael Angelo DeBone, Jr.

Michael Angelo DeBone, Jr., 93, passed away on December 14, 2020 at Courtland Terrace in Gastonia, NC.  He was born on February 8, 1927 in Greensburg, PA to the late Michael Angelo, Sr. and Helen DeBone.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty years, Mary, brother Bill DeBone and sisters Shirley Eckel and Bonnie Evans. Mike proudly served our country in the US Army before graduating from Pennsylvania State University with a BS degree in Commerce and Finance.  He retired in 2001 from North Carolina Foam, Inc. in Mount Airy, NC.  Mike was an avid reader, a huge Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State Nittany Lion fan and he loved to play golf and travel. Surviving are daughters Amy Snyder (Tom Perry) of Mount Airy, Paula and Jim Weant of Gastonia, Chelly and David McKeever of Siesta Key, Florida; grandchildren Adam (Lauren) Snyder, Andrew (Lee Ann) Synder, Allyson Snyder (Will Freeze), Kylie McKeever and Ryan McKeever; great grandchildren Cole Snyder, Robby, Caleb and Henry Snyder and Alessia Garrido, and also very special friend Norma Scott of Sunset Beach, NC. Special thank you and appreciation to the staff at Courtland Terrace for their endless love and support of Mike and his family. Due to Covid -19 and public health concerns, there will only be a private graveside service in Mount Airy. Memorials should be sent to the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History 301 N. Main Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030 or The Salvation Army, Empty Stocking Fund, P.O. Box 1094, Gastonia, NC  28053. Moody Funeral Service of Mount Airy is serving the family.
