Michael Coleman Edinger

Mr. Michael Coleman "Mike" Edinger, 45, son of Yvonne Huffman Edinger and John Howard Edinger, Jr. of Mount Airy, passed away Friday, December 24, 2010, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Born September 3, 1965, in Charlotte, he is survived by his mother, Yvonne Huffman Edinger of Mount Airy; a son, Michael Coleman Edinger, Jr. and his wife, Brandy, of Statesville; a granddaughter, Sophia; and three brothers, Tony Warren Howard, Jr. and his wife, Connie, of Augusta, GA, John Gregory Howard and his wife, Amy, of Kinston, and John Howard "Jack" Edinger, III and his wife, Anne, of Durham. Mike was a 1983 graduate of Mount Airy High School. He was preceded in death by his natural father, Tony Warren Howard, Sr. of Wolcott, CT; and his adoptive father, John Howard Edinger, Jr. of Mount Airy. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 1, 2011, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church, 714 North Main Street, Mount Airy. Dr. Roger B. Gilbert will be officiating minister. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
