Mr. Milbert Clinton Hylton, age 75 of Bassett, Virginia went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at SOVAH Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. He was born in Franklin County on June 7, 1945 to the late Elzie Hylton and Wreathie Belcher Hylton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Milbert Wayne Hylton. He was a faithful member of Ross Harbour United Methodist Church. Clinton was a truck driver with E. A. Wright & Sons for over 25 years and was known by the C.B. handle as “Taterhead”. Clinton loved his family and enjoyed rabbit hunting, good food, good friends, and good stories.
Clinton is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Judy Foley Hylton of the home; two daughters, Angela Jones (Darrell) of Christiansburg, and Sandra Prillaman (Scott) of Ridgeway; one daughter-in-law, Sandy Hylton of Bassett; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clyde Hylton (fiancé, Betty) of Bassett, and Clayton Hylton (Ella) of Stuart; five sisters, Ellen Belcher (Odell) of Meadows of Dan, Elaine Hylton (Clinton Ray) of Bassett, Joyce Clark (Morris) of Bassett, Elvie Bryant (Richard) of Bassett, and Delcie Miller (Jeff) of Pulaski, Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Hylton will be held on Monday, May 3, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Gaylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow in Ross Harbour United Methodist Church Cemetery.
