Mildred Marion Bowman

Our beloved mother Mildred Marion Bowman, 79 of 264 Orchard Road, Ararat, VA went to be with her heavenly father at Northern Hospital of Surry County on September 25, 2006. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Rev. Clay Bowman, her parents, Roy Marion and Hazel Marion Ward and a son-in-law, G.W. Quesinberry and her step father, Clifford Ward. She was a homemaker and a very faithful church worker and member of WOM. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church of Cana, VA. Surviving are four daughters and sons-in-law, Adele and Rev. Alton Bledsoe, Mt. Airy, NC, Darlene and J.C. Calhoun, Lexington, NC, Clayron and Larry Webb, Kernersville, NC, and Belinda and Jackie Utt, Mt. Airy, NC 7 grandchildren and spouse, Fonda and Tony Dalton, Mt. Airy, NC, Amanda and Grant King, King, NC, Becky and Charles Hendley, Indianapolis, IN, Paul and Mandy Quesinberry, Lexington, NC, Anthony and Renee Webb, Kernersville, NC, Crystal Webb, Kernersville, NC, Darren and Misty Utt, Mt. Airy, NC, 11 great grandchildren, two half sisters and husbands, Jessie Ward Kelly and Richard, Mabank, TX and Frances Ward Hawks and Ronnie Raleigh, NC. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 27, 3006 at Oak Grove Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Tom Parker, Rev. Alton Bledsoe, Rev. Junior Corns and Mr. Larry Webb. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:30-8:30 PM Tuesday at Moody Funeral Home of Mt. Airy where her body will remain until taken to the church to lie in state30 minute prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the donor's choice. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Northern Hospital of Surry County, Twelve Oaks and Central Continuing Care for the care and kindness shown to our mother during her illness. Also thanks to her many friends for their prayers and love. Special thanks to Dr. Burciu, Dr. Flickinger, Dr. Burns, Dr. Kriska and Dr. Petri for their loving care.
