Mildred Lyons Edwards Carr

Mrs. Mildred Lyons Edwards Carr Age 91 of 205 Cedar Knoll Rd. Mt. Airy passed away Friday January 4, 2013 at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. Mrs. Carr was born September 8, 1921 in Surry County to the late James E. and Amie Watkins Edwards, she was a homemaker and member of Trinity Episcopal Church. Surviving are one daughter Elizabeth Anne Carr of Asheville, three sons and daughters-in-law Robert Bruce Carr, Edward Franklin and Suzanne H. Carr and Dennis Walker and Judy Carr all of Wilmington, DE., four grandchildren Laura Michelle Carr and Jennifer Carr both of Wilmington, DE, Jamie Brown and Krystal Brown both of Asheville, eight great grandchildren, one sister Jane Edwards Newman and one brother Robert H. Edwards. In addition to her parents Mrs. Carr was preceded in death by her husband Bruce Walker Carr, three sisters Mary Edward Neil, Rubie Edwards and Louise Edwards Blue, by two brothers Edward Edwards and Claude W. Edwards. A memorial service will be held Saturday January 12, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Episcopal Church with services conducted by Reverend Raymond Hanna with in intombment at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
