Mrs. Mildred Ellen Dehors, 75, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Dehors was born September 6, 1934, in Surry County, to the late Oscar Thomas and Dora Harriman Thomas. She retired as a foster mother and was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her husband, Alfred Dehors, Sr. of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Gordon Dellinger of Midway, Mary Sue and Billy Embry of Cana, VA, and Laura Hinckley and Rodney Harris of Cana, VA; sons Alfred Dehors, Jr. of Mount Airy and Ronnie Duvall of Appulia Station, NY; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Faye Hitt of Texas and Gaye Snellings of Fredericksburg, VA; and a brother, Charlie Harry Thomas of Mount Airy. In Addition to her parents, Mrs. Dehors was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Harrell and Alice Lester; and two brothers, Raymond Walter Thomas and Robert Thomas. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Todd E. Byrd officiating. Entombment will follow in the Skyline Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
