Mildred Louise Stillwell Easter

Mrs. Mildred Louise Stillwell Easter, 65, of 216 New Street, Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at her home. Mrs. Easter was born August 12, 1943, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Garnett and Mothy Haynes Stillwell. She was employed at Surry Community Nursing Center in the dietary department and was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Cana, VA. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jessie Gwyn Bowman and David of Mount Airy; three sons, Lonnie Dwayne Gwyn and Tracy Ray Gwyn and fiancee, Ronda Kelly, all of Ararat, and Haywood Berlie Easter and fiancee, Amy Leigh Shumate, of Mount Airy; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law, Susie and Don Smith of Cana, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Easter was preceded in death by her husband, Haywood Hobert Easter; and an infant son, Timothy Lee Easter. The funeral service will be held Sunday, June 7, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Louis Martin, Elder Arwood Edwards, the Rev. Russell Vass, and the Rev. Isreal Gwyn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
