Mildred Waddell Martin

Mrs. Mildred Waddell Martin, 86, of Dobson, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2010, at Heritage Care of Elkin. She was born August 21, 1924, in Grayson County, VA, to the late Sherman Lee and Callie Jones Waddell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl William Martin, Sr.; and a brother, Wilmount Waddell. She was a member of Salem Fork Christian Church and retired from The Lantern Restaurant. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Carl William Martin, Jr. and Janice Wood Martin of Traphill; a granddaughter, Belinda Martin; a grandson, David Martin; a brother, Everett Waddell of King; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, with Pastor June E. Haislip officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery in Galax, VA. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
