Mildred "Millie" Ruth Simmons

Simmons, Millie, 84, of Cocoa, FL passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, November 28, 2024. She was the beloved mother of Pam (Denny) Ullo and Rick Simmons, the adored “Nana” of Katharine, and the daughter of the late Rush and Mildred Epperson Ayers. She is preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers and is survived by her brother, Robin Ayers. During Millie’s career, she excelled in finance, and achieved the level of Executive Vice President in banking and started her own mortgage company. Her work ethic was unmatched, but her family always came first. She will be remembered for her kind heart, love of fashion, quick wit, and her nickname “snooks.” To know her was to love her and she will be greatly missed. There will be a visitation held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 11:00 AM -12:00 PM at Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy. The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Unity Church, 2874 Unity Church Road, Ararat, VA. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Buford E. Jessup. There will be refreshments and fellowship following the funeral service in the Fellowship Hall at the Unity Church.
