Mintoria "Alice" Haymore

Mrs. Mintoria “Alice” Martin Boyd Haymore, 87, of Mt. Airy passed away Monday, July 18, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Patrick County on August 10, 1934, to the late Henry Eugene Martin, Sr. and Sarah Lewis Martin.  Mrs. Haymore retired from Kentucky Derby, and a member of Fancy Gap Baptist Church.  Mrs. Haymore was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed.  She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Freida Anne Tate and Dennis; a son and daughter-in-law, James “Kelly” Boyd and Kimberly; grandchildren, Dennis Wayne Tate, Jr. and Amanda, Edgar Burton Tate and Tracy, Nathaniel Dale Boyd and Tiffany, Emma Olivia Boyd; great grandchildren, Kendall Wayne Tate and Lauren, Garrett Wayne Tate and Chloe, Claudia Leigh Ann Tate, Maggie Leigh Ann Tate, Allyni Catherine Tate Strickland and Landon, Colton Alexander Tate, Layne Ray Boyd, Leland James Boyd; great great grandchild, Melanie Harper Tate; sisters and brother-in-law, Helen Griffith and Raymond, Cristine Hensley, Shirley Griffith; brother and sisters-in-law, Leon Martin and Linda; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Haymore was preceded in death by her first husband, Burton Arthur Boyd, Jr.; her second husband, Bobby Ray Haymore; sisters, Thelma Griffith, and Ethel Griffith; brothers and sister-in-law, Henry Eugene Martin, Jr. and Thelma, Robert Ira Martin.  A funeral service will be held Friday, July 22, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Fancy Gap Baptist Church with the Rev. Dwight Sechrist officiating.  Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at Fancy Gap Baptist Church.  Moody Funeral Services is serving the Haymore family.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
