Mirlie Ethel Dalton

Mrs. Mirlie Ethel Jones Johnson Dalton, 82, of Mt. Airy, passed away at Village Care in King, Saturday, July 4, 2020.  She was born in Surry County December 21, 1937 to the late George Wyatt and Mary Alene Hawks Jones.  She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.  She was a loving mother and grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her.  Left  to cherish her memories are daughters, Carolyn Willard, Angela  O’Neal and fiancé Gilbert Reyes; sons and daughter-in-law, Clyde and Jill Johnson, David Johnson; several step-children; grandchildren, Amanda Combs, Brandon O’Neal, Justin Johnson; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Ayden, Kendall, Kylie and Karlie as well as several step-grandchildren and several step great-grandchildren; sisters, Ella Mae Draughn and Shirley Jenkins; brothers and sister-in-law, P.J. and Jane Jones, Chester Jones  In addition to her parents Mrs. Dalton was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Arlie Johnson; second husband, McKinley Reynolds Dalton; brothers, Garnet and E. L. Jones. Respecting the limitations of numbers (COVID-19), a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Bro. Ray Hutson and Bro. Frank Danley. Burial will follow in Blackwater Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until time for the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
