Miss Amanda Nicole “Nikki” Coalson

Miss Amanda Nicole “Nikki” Coalson, 32, of Ararat, VA, passed away at her home Friday, October 27, 2017. She was born in Surry County, November 29, 1984 to Scarlet East Coalson and Charles Camet Coalson, Jr. Nikki was very “special”, and a true gift from God. She was a loving, generous, and kind hearted young lady who enjoyed her life to her fullest. Nikki deeply loved her family and friends, helping spread joy from the simplest of things. Nikki had a knack for making you smile, and never forgetting to call each of us on our birthday. She was loved by everyone, who was blessed to know her. “She was likened unto a ray of sunshine, that shown on all of us.” Nikki attended Horizon Day treatments in Patrick Springs Virginia, and attended Victory Baptist Church in Mt. Airy. Nikki enjoyed many things in life such as singing along with the church choir; watching Jeff Gordon, talking of driving a fast Mustang; and collecting Zebras. In addition to her parents, Nikki is survived by a sister, Ashley Coalson and Roberto Rodriguez and their son, Mason Rodriguez; her aunts and uncles, Debra Goodrich, Denise Coalson, Denny Lee and Diane East; Jane and Mike Martin, and Sue Alderman; and many cousin too numerous to mention, but deeply loved by Nikki; special friend, Tabatha Myall. Nikki was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Denny and Evelyn O’Neal East; her paternal grandparents, Elder Charles C. and Goldie Bowman Coalson; an uncle, Tim Alderman, and a special cousin, Mary Atkins Tate. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Mountain View Primitive Baptist Church in Ararat, VA with Rev. Dean Eaton, Rev. Mike Martin and Rev Joey Jessup officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Moody Funeral Home, PO Box 1288, Mt. Airy, NC 27030 to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
