Miss Josephine Flippen

Miss Josephine Flippen, age 79 of Mt. Airy passed away Monday, November 11, 2013 at Northern Hospital. Miss Flippen was born in Surry County on September 13, 1934 to the James Odes and Nannie Bell Money Flippen. She was retired from Roses and was a faithful member of Haymore Memorial Baptist Church. Surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Magdalene "Maggie" and Randy Scott of Graham, a niece; two nephews and several cousins. In addition to her parents, Miss Flippen was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Irene Flippen. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Haymore Baptist Church by Rev. Robert McCrary. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 AM.
