Miss Florence Griffith

Miss Florence Griffith 87, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Friday morning, December 4, 2015 at Golden Living Center. Miss Griffith was born in Surry County on February 25, 1928 to the late Samuel Walter and Ada Coke Griffith. Miss Griffith was a faithful and loyal member of Midway Baptist Church for over fifty years. Miss Griffith is survived by two nephews and spouses, Charles and Hyo-Sim Motsinger of Smyrna, GA, and Jim and Pamela Griffith of Claudville, VA; four very “special sisters”, Helen Davis, Pat Gwyn, Harlene Harrell, and Paula McCarty all of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, Miss Griffith was preceded in death by four sisters, Nellie Ruth Goins, Callie Vipperman, Juanita Griffith, and Myrtle Griffith; and three brothers, Walter Glenn Griffith, Lawrence Griffith, and Ernest Griffith. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Midway Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Phillips officiating with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday at Midway Baptist Church from 2-3. Flowers will not be accepted but memorials may be made to Midway Baptist Church, 1015 N. Franklin Rd., Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
