Miss May Beatrice Haynes

Miss May Beatrice Haynes, 79, of Cana, VA passed away at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center on Thursday, October 20, 2016. She was born in Carroll County, VA on May 1, 1937 to the late James Garfield and Hester May Hiatt Haynes. She retired from Cross Creek Apparel and was of the Baptist Faith. She is survived by a brother, Herbert Haynes and wife, Ruby of Cana, VA; several nieces and nephews; a special nephew, Herbert Haynes, Jr. and wife, Emily. In addition to her parents, Miss Haynes was preceded in death by two sisters, Myrtle Ayers and Lummie Haynes; and two brothers, Jimmy and Bryant Haynes. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 24, 2016 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Cana, VA with Rev. Isreal Gwynn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy on Sunday 4:00 until 6:00 PM where her body will remain until the time to be taken to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.
