Miss Ashley Nicole Johnson

Miss Ashley Nicole Johnson, 27, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2016 in Mount Airy. Miss Johnson was born on December 5, 1988 in Mount Airy to Bobby and Penny Edmonds Johnson. Ashley graduated from Mount Airy High School and worked for both the Mount Airy News and Starrett. Ashley was a hard worker who was dearly loved by all who knew her. She is survived by her parents, Bobby and Penny Edmonds Johnson; her granny, Nellie Johnson; and her fiancé, Danny Tate, all of Mount Airy. Ashley was preceded in death by her nana, Polly Edmonds; her papa, Rex Edmonds; her Papa Lou Lou, Lewis Johnson; and a very special aunt, Cathy Edmonds. The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Woodland Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Slate officiating. Burial will follow in Goins Family Cemetery on McBride Rd. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at Woodland Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy to assist the family with funeral expenses. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Ray and Vernell Goins.
