Miss Myrtle Mae Johnson

Miss Myrtle Mae Johnson, Age 87 of 597 Johnson Rd. Mt. Airy passed away Tuesday August 9, 2011 at Central Continuing Care in Mt. Airy. Miss Johnson was born October 1, 1923 in Surry County to the late Hiram Preston and Louisiana Watson Johnson, she was a homemaker and was a member of Blackwater United Methodist Church. Surviving are several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, several great great nieces and nephews and one sister-in-law Cleo Johnson of Greenville, SC. In addition to her parents Miss Johnson was preceded in death by two sisters Mecie Hutson and Edna Hutson and by four brothers K. Brady Johnson, Harvey Johnson, William H. Johnson and Paul B. Johnson. Funeral services will be held Friday August 12, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Blackwater United Methodist Church with services conducted by Rev. Ted Turman and Rev. Marion Fulk with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday night 6 to 8 P.M. at the Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy where her body will remain until time to be taken to the church Friday to lie in state 30 minutes before the service.
