Miss Lolean Moorefield

Miss Lolean Moorefield, 88, of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017 at her home. She was born in Stokes County on April 12, 1929 to the late Frank and Susie Owens Moorefield. Miss Moorefield was retired from Spencer’s after 36 years of service. She was a kind, loving person and was a friend to all who knew her. Her favorite saying was “I Said Well”. She is survived by a nephew, Tim Cooke and Debra of the home; a niece, Sherry Simpson and Tommy of Archdale; many other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Miss Moorefield was preceded in death by sisters, Irene Taylor, Leona Cooke, and Ethel Moorefield; brothers, Joe, Herman, and Frank Junior Moorefield. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 29, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Indian Grove Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:30 until 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy and other time at her home. The family would like to give a special thank you to her great nieces, Mariah, Angela, and to the staff of Pruitt Hospice of Wilkes for the special care given to Lolean during her illness.
