Miss Verda Irene Overby

Miss Verda Irene Overby, age 74 of the Blue Ridge Nursing in Stuart, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at the nursing center. She was born in Patrick County on March 19, 1933 to the late Bill and Pearl Goins Overby. She had moved to Yadkinville, North Carolina where she lived for about 20 years before returning to Patrick County. In addition to her parents, Miss Overby was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Overby. She was of the Baptist faith.
Miss Overby is survived by one half-sister, Sarah "Tottie" Jones of Stuart; a sister-in-law, Betty Jo Overby Williams of Stuart; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Miss Overby will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Randy Bartley officiating. Burial will follow in the Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, and at other times at the home of Sarah Jones on Old Orchard Loop.
