Miss Anna Bell Wood

Miss Anna Bell Wood, age 91 of Meadows of Dan passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Laurel Meadows Nursing Center in Laurel Fork. She was born in Patrick County on October 22, 1918 to the late Samuel Nelson Wood and Florence Alice Brammer Wood. In addition to her parents, Miss Wood was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Wood; and four brothers, Buren, Jesse, Hoy and Carl Wood. She was of the Presbyterian faith, and had attended Slate Mountain Presbyterian Church for many years when she was able. She had worked for Pannill Knitting.
Miss Wood is survived by one brother, Herbert Wood of Meadows of Dan; one sister, Genevive Crews of Charlotte, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Miss Wood will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Slate Mountain Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jeff Dalton and Rev. Leon Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, and at other times at the home of her brother, Herbert Wood.
