Misty Kay Holyfield

Ms. Misty Kay Holyfield age 31 of 213 Glory Bound Lane, Ararat, NC passed away at Northern Hospital of Surry County, Monday, September 15, 2008. She was born January 6, 1977 in Surry County, NC to Rev. Donald William "Donnie" Holyfield and the late Kathy Clark Holyfield Cox. She was employed by Waffle House and was a member of New Beginning Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Daniel James Dupree, Asheville, father and step-mother, Rev. Donald William "Donnie" and Rita Holyfield of the home, a sister, Robin Bowman Musick, Laurel Springs, NC, three brothers, Harold Dean Bowman, Jr., Siloam, NC, Dustin Ray Collins and William Luke Holyfield, Ararat, NC and a grandmother, Mary Lou Holyfield, Ararat, NC. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, September 19, 2008 at New Beginning Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Butch Holder, Rev. Dink Haynes and Rev. Terry Coe. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-9 PM Thursday at Moody Funeral Home of Mt. Airy where her body will remain until carried to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
