Mitchell Drew Jenkins

Mr. Mitchell Drew Jenkins, 39, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2009, at his home. Mr. Jenkins was born August 1, 1969, in Surry County, to Lewis Alford and Mary Ruth Tate Jenkins. Surviving are two daughters, Michelle Dawn Jenkins and Donna Mae Woods, both of Lawsonville; a son, Joey Drew Jenkins of the home; grandchildren, Joshua Daniel Woods, Jr. and Wyatt Lewis Woods; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeannie and John Tate of Mount Airy, Rhonda and Ronald Hawks of Lowgap, and Maude and Joey Donathan of Mount Airy; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jamie and Sharon Jenkins and Ricky and Karen Puckett, all of Mount Airy; half-sisters, Mary Jenkins of Reidsville and Rita Gregory of Williamsburg, VA; and half-brothers and their wives, Gary and Brenda Jenkins, Larry and Emma Jenkins, and Lewis and Mary Jenkins, all of Mount Airy, and Timmy Jenkins of Williamsburg, VA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by a half-sister, Nelta Marshall; and a half-brother, Terry Jenkins. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at Imogene Baptist Church, with the Rev. Doug Cockerham officiating. Burial will follow in the Tate Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Jamie Jenkins at 144 Flora Ridge Lane.
