Mitchell Edward Stanley

Mitchell Edward Stanley, born August 9, 1943, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025, with his three loving daughters by his side. Known for his quick wit and humor, Mitchell was a master jokester who could make anyone laugh. He loved his family fiercely, adored his loyal dog, and had a knack for colorful language that left no room for doubt about what he was thinking. Mitchell was preceded in death by his beloved wife, June; his son, Mitchell “Mickey” Stanley; his parents, Ralph and Winfred Stanley; and his brother, Pete Stanley. He is survived by his daughters Kimberley Stanley and wife Susan; Kristy Johnson and husband Chris, along with their children Alex and Kate; and Kelli Doby and husband Abraham, and their children Ethan (wife Ashley), Jessica, and Alea. Mitchell also leaves behind his siblings Daniel Stanley (wife Linda), David Stanley, and Sandra Atkins, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will always cherish his larger-than-life personality. Mitchell had a heart as big as his laugh and a unique ability to bring light to any room. Whether he was telling a joke, spoiling his dog, or speaking his mind in his signature way, he made an unforgettable impact on everyone he met. A celebration of life will be held for Mitchell on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Serre Vineyard, 364 Beast Trail, Mt. Airy, NC. Family and friends are invited to stop in and visit with the family from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Mitchell’s name to the John Woltz Hospice Home, whose compassionate care brought peace to Mitchell in his final days. Mitchell will be remembered as a man full of life, love, and laughter, and he will be deeply missed. Moody-Davis Funeral Service is serving the Stanley family. There will be no formal services held at the funeral home.
