Mollie McBride Jones

Mrs. Mollie Jones, 74, of Cana, VA, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at Golden Living Center in Mount Airy. Mrs. Jones was born January 28, 1937, in Surry County, daughter of the late Edgar and Maggie Marshall McBride. She was a homemaker. She is survived by a son, Franklin Dallas Jones, Jr. of Nashville, NC; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Ronald Cochran and Donna and Derrick Hiatt, all of Cana, VA; five grandchildren and their spouses, Dana and Anthony Durham, Yvette and James Holley, Cody Hiatt, Dusty Cochran, and Chandler Hiatt; two great-grandchildren, Brady Durham and Collin Holley; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Betty and Jack Morton and Peggy and Larry Badgett, all of Mount Airy, and Polly Hall of Lowgap; and a brother and sister-in-law, Edger Lee and Mildred McBride of Pilot Mountain. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Dallas Jones, Sr.; a granddaughter, Faith Destiny Jones; and four brothers, Raymond, Billy, Bob, and Don McBride. The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 11, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Sammy Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones-Fleming Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home, and other times at the home of Deborah and Ronald Cochran, 154 Garland Drive, Cana, VA.
