Molly Neal Weant Cooper

Mrs. Molly Neal Weant Cooper, 87, of 1612 East Fairfield Drive, Mount Airy, passed away Friday afternoon, December 18, 2009, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Cooper was born August 27, 1922, in Rowan County, the daughter of the late Perry Ernest and Veda Winecoff Weant. She was a homemaker and a member of Haymore Memorial Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Reginald Hudgins of Ararat; and a brother, Bill Weant of Salisbury. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her husband, Festus Cooper; and two brothers, Owen Weant and Ernest Weant. A graveside service will be held Monday, December 21, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Oakdale Cemetery, with the Rev. Robert McCrary officiating. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time to depart to the cemetery for the service.
