Moses Clifford Haynes

Mr. Moses Clifford Haynes, 76, of Cana, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 24, 2018.  He was born in Carroll County, VA to the late Harvey and Rausie McMillian Haynes.  He retired from North Carolina Granite Quarry after almost 40 years of service.  Mr. Haynes was a trustee of Cana Baptist Church and faithful member for many years.  He was a man of strong faith.  He believed in the love of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior.  He loved his family and taught them to pray hard, love one another and always put the Lord first in their lives.  He enjoyed gardening, farming, raising animals, and spending time with his grandchildren.  He was always willing to help anyone.  “Pa will be greatly missed by his family and friends”.  Mr. Haynes is survived by his daughters and a son-in-law, Marlene Cagle and Doretta and Timothy Wood; his sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell Haynes, Tyrone and Tammy Haynes and Jessie and Mith Haynes; grandchildren, Jessica Cagle, Heather Wright and husband Jonathan, Makayla Haynes, Hannah Cagle, Alyssa Cagle, Matt Holt and Abigail Haynes; great grandchildren Addilyn Wright and Evelyn Wright; a sister and brother-in-law Hazel and Reaford Hiatt and a brother-in-law Glenn McMillian; a brother and sister-in-law, Reaford and Wanda Haynes and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Haynes was preceded in death by his wife Alice Ann Dawson Haynes; an infant son, Paul Elliott Haynes.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, July 27, 2018 at Cana Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Vass, Rev. Tim Crotts and Rev. Donald Byrant. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 2:00 PM until the time of the service.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Cana Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, c/o Russell Vass, 318 White Pines Country Club Rd., Mt.
