Mozelle Bowen Badgett

Mrs. Mozelle Bowen Badgett, 92, of Elkin, passed away Monday evening, June 28, 2010, at Heritage Healthcare of Elkin. She was born March 4, 1918, in Forsyth County, to the late William Calvin and Rebecca Wheatley Carter. She was a member of Dover Baptist Church. Mrs. Badgett loved helping all the ladies at the Surry Arts Council and was employed by the Art Market. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Willis Badgett; a daughter, Linda Karen Badgett; a stepson, Ronald Badgett; two sisters, Viola Atkins and Mary Lee Barneycastle; and a brother, Lester Byerly. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Brent Davis of Dobson; a special granddaughter, Tonya Davis of Dobson; two stepgrandchildren; and her favorite niece, Carol Atkins of Ararat. The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 1, 2010, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home, with Dr. Andy Atkins officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Oakdale Cemetery in Mt. Airy. Dr. Andy Atkins will officiate the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Wednesday evening from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
