Mozelle Goins Hawks

Mrs. Mozelle Goins Hawks, 61, of 252 Old Toast Road, Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2010, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Hawks was born September 24, 1948, in Patrick County, VA, to the late Euel William and Princess Thompson Goins. She was employed by Renfro Corporation and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Dean Hawks of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Tracey Harris of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Emily Hawks of Mount Airy; eight grandchildren, Mason Hawks, Dusty Harris, Maddison Hawks, Morgan Hawks, Maggie Hawks, Kayla Harris, Marley Beasley, and Dylon Beasley; her mother-in-law, Faith Hawks of Mount Airy; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Peggy Goins Gray of Mount Airy, Catherine and John Smith of Ararat, VA, and Juanita "Tootie" Jarrell of Middletown, OH; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jehu "Jay" and Gay Goins of Mount Airy, Bobby and Mickey Goins of Winston-Salem, Frank Goins of Stuart, VA, and Herbert Goins of Oakwood, VA; and a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Gerald and Linda Hawks and Ann Puckett, all of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hawks was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Robin Hawks Beasley; three brothers, Allen Goins, Charles Goins, and Grover Goins; and her father-in-law, John Hawks. The funeral service will be held Sunday, February 21, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Mr. Bill Hiatt, the Rev. Butch Holder, and the Rev. Dean Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Holy Cross Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Mozelle Goins Hawks Funeral Fund, c/o Moody Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030, to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
