Jack was well known in the automobile business until his retirement in 1990. He is also survived by grandchildren, Rebecca and husband, Erik Spanberg of Charlotte, and David and wife, Julie Hicks of Anderson, SC. Jack enjoyed his great grandchildren immensely: Jessica Cooke of Wilmington, Drew and Conor Cooke of Westfield, Katharine and Eliza Spanberg of Charlotte, and Cooper Hicks of Anderson, SC. Joe Cook, sisters, Irene Cook McClure, Ruth Cook Shelton and Pauline Cook Vipperman and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials are requested in his memory to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home who so lovingly took care of Jack in the last days of his physical life, at 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017, or the Bannertown Baptist Church at 1834 Westfield Rd., Mt. Airy, NC 27030, or the charity of choice. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Dr. Roger Kerley, his long-time physician, as well as his recent nurses at Hospice, Jeanine Moss, Kayla Snow and loving aides, Sue Draughn and Betty Snow. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mickey Cogdill. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens.
