Mr. Albert B. Layman

Mr. Albert Billy Layman, age 78, of Stuart passed away Friday, January 05, 2007 at his home. He was born in Henry County on September 9, 1928 to the late John William Layman and Lizzy Ramsey Layman Maxie. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters, Hazel Carter, Georgia Lawson, Lorene Bryant, and Glenna Jones; a brother, Edgar Layman and his beloved Boston Terrier, Billy Boy. Mr. Layman was a member of Community Primitive Baptist Church; he retired from DuPont after 35 years of Service and served in the Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Layman is survived by his wife, Kathleen Knowles Layman of the home, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Doug and wife, Lesia Layman of Stuart and Jeffrey Layman of the home; a daughter, Laura Layman and fiance, Ricky Martin both of Stuart; two grandchildren Heather Layman of Henry, VA and Jonathan Layman of Stuart; a great granddaughter, Haley Gillispie of Henry and a sister Velma Handy of Stuart.
Funeral Services will be held at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart at 2:00pm on Sunday, January 7, 2007 with Elder Lewis Vass officiating. Burial will follow in the Community Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
