Mr. Allen Charlton Quesinberry

Mr. Allen Charlton Quesinberry, 91, of Pinnacle passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. He was born in Patrick County, VA June 26, 1926 to the late Merritt and Georgia Keith Quesinberry. Mr. Quesinberry bravely served in the U.S. Navy and retired from a career as a truck driver. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. Mr. Quesinberry is survived by three daughters, Jo Ann Holder of Rural Hall, June Creed and husband, Franklin of Pinnacle and Mary Tilley of Siloam; two sons, Richard and wife, Sharon Quesinberry and Mark Quesinberry all of Pinnacle; grandchildren and spouses, Rodney (Charity) Cox, Amy Quesinberry, Sara Quesinberry, Megan (Joe) Bishop, Jamie Holder, Joseph (LeAnnah) Holder, Constance Gaither and boyfriend, Steve Hammond, Savannah (Wes) Denny, Patrick Creed and girlfriend, Hannah Merritt, Jessica (Dyllon) Cavanaugh, Jacob Quesinberry, and Maggie Quesinberry; great-grandchildren, Joshua Cox, Nathaniel Cox, Tyler Gaither, Lucas Gaither, Evan Gaither, Mason Hutchens, Tinslei Sizemore, Max Bishop, Trevor Bishop, Summer Cummings, and Taylor Cummings; sisters, Freida Scott of Rural Hall, Delcie Montgomery of Ararat, VA, Geraldine Culler of King, NC; brothers, Roy Quesinberry of West End, NC, and Odell Quesinberry and wife, Amy of Mt. Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Quesinberry was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Magdalene Young Quesinberry; sisters, Imalene Bowman and Virdy Forman; and a brother, Cecil Quesinberry. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in the Young Family Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the VFW Honor Guard Mt. Airy Post 2019 and Pilot Mountain Post 9436. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy on Tuesday from 12:30 PM until the time of the service. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Crystal Hiatt for the wonderful care assisting Mr. Quesinberry and her precious granddaughter, “sweet Maddie” for her warm friendly smiles. .
