Mr. Alvin Cecil Jessup

Mr. Alvin Cecil Jessup, of Clover Lane Mt. Airy, passed away on early Friday morning October 5, 2007. He was born in Patrick County Virginia on August 26, 1921 to the late Hillary and Laura Tilley Jessup. Mr. Jessup is a retired farmer, a Veteran of the US Army, and was a member of Family Fellowship Chapel. In addition to his parents Mr. Jessup was preceded in death by two sons Gary and Wayne Jessup. Surviving are his wife Mrs. Florence Smith Jessup of the home; one daughter Pamela Jessup of Thomasville, NC; three sons and daughters-in-law Junior and Carolyn Jessup of Germanton, NC, Franklin and Cathy Jessup of Mt. Airy, NC, Dwayne and Rebecca Jessup of Mt. Airy, NC; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters and brother-in-law Audrey Hayden of Mt. Airy, NC, Betty Lou Beane of East Bend, NC, Helen and Larry Moorefield of Mt. Airy, NC; three brothers and sisters-in-law Otis and Irene Jessup of Ararat, VA, Burton and Mary Ellen Jessup of Claudeville, VA, Raymond and Libby Jessup of Mt. Airy, NC
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday October 8, 2007 in the Chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson with burial to follow in the Unity Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Ararat, VA. Rev. Mike Shelton and Rev. K.T. Carrico will officiate the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6 until 8 P.M.
