Mr. Arlis Monroe Gwyn

Mr. Arlis Monroe Gwyn, age 81, of Dobson, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin. Mr. Gwyn was born September 26, 1935 in Surry County to the late Kernal and Vera Gunnell Gwyn. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nettie Branch Gwyn. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Vanessa Gwyn-Simms and Chris Simms of Denton, Texas; his sons, Jeff and Jennifer Gwyn of Atlanta Georgia, Patrick and Angela Gwyn of King, NC; and Bruce Gwyn of Winston Salem, NC; sisters, Stella and Garfield Bryant and Annie Lou Flippen; grandchildren, Paul Vela, Jazzlyn Vela, Isabella Vela, Cameron Gwyn, Christopher Gwyn, McKenna Gwyn, Rebecca Gwynn-Dills, Thomas Gwynn, Mason Quesinberry, Dillon Quesinberry, Nevaeh Gwyn, Mezmariah Gwyn and Kailani Gwyn. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Gwyn; and his sisters, Carrie Gwyn and Cassie Key. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 6-8 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson. The funeral will be at 2:00 Pm Wednesday, November 2, 2016 in the Moody-Davis Chapel with Reverend Jeff Wall officiating. Burial will follow in the Fisher River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
