Mr. Arlis Curtis "Mickey" Wright

Mr. Arlis Curtis "Mickey" Wright, age 84 of Stuart, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Pioneer Community Hospital in Stuart. He was born in Patrick County on September 26, 1928 to the late Walter Lester and Ethel Huff Wright. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wright was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry O. Wright and Wilburn Lee Wright; and two sisters, Myrtle Wright Rakes and Virginia Frances Wright Martin. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Dry Pond, served in the United States Army during the Korean war and retired from DuPont as a machinist with over 37 years of service.
Mr. Wright is survived by his wife of 59 years, Claris Adams Wright of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Rhonda Wright of Martinsville, Donita and Richard Thompson of Martinsville; one grandson; one step-great-grandson; one sister, Erma Wright Garner of Stoneville, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Wright will be held Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Brother James Percival and Brother David Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until time of the service, and at other times at the home. Interment will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Patrick Memorial Gardens with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
