Mr. Arnold Boyd Jessup

Mr. Arnold Boyd Jessup, age 77, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Surry Community Nursing Center. Mr. Jessup was born in Surry County on September 4, 1939, to Adam and Martha Anderson Jessup. He proudly served our country in the United States Army and was retired from the business he and his wife owned and operated, Holly Springs Grocery and Garage. Those who will forever cherish his memory are his son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Leigh Ann Jessup; sisters, Lucy Rogers, and Kathleen Frye; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lester and Shirley Jessup, Junior and Leota Jessup, Buford and Carol Jessup, Lonnie and Judy Jessup, and Kenneth and Brenda Jessup; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jessup was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Brown Jessup; a son, Bryant Jessup; brothers, Wayne Jessup, Clarence Jessup, and Bevel Jessup; sisters-in-law, Inez Jessup and Eugenia Jessup, and by a brothers-in-law, Grady Frye, and Boyce Rogers. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Westfield Baptist Church by the Dr. Joel Stephens. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday at the church beginning at 9:30.
