Mr. Berman Malria Leftwich

Mr. Berman Malria Leftwich, 72 of Cana, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center on Thursday, September 6, 2012. He was born on November 17, 1939 in Carroll County, VA to the late Arnold Washington and Elma Painter Leftwich. Mr. Leftwich was a retired truck driver and a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. He was kind man and a good friend and neighbor; a devoted husband, caring father and grandfather. Mr. Leftwich is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Shirley Barker Leftwich of the home; daughters, Sheila Leftwich, Tina Leftwich both of Cana; son and daughter-in-law, Berman Leftwich, Jr. and Stephanie of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Danielle McMillian, Deaven Mauldin, Saige Leftwich and a great-grandson, Jacxon Mauldin; sisters and brother-in-law, Eleanor Leftwich of Cana, Nelba and Raymond Dowell, Juanita Montgomery, Loreita Bennett, Joy Cannoy and Mashell Leftwich all of Mt. Airy; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jeffrey Leftwich, Maynard Leftwich, A.W. and Betty Leftwich all of Mt. Airy, Clellan and Darlene Leftwich of Cana, VA, and Barbara Leftwich of Cana. In addition to his parents, Mr. Leftwich was preceded in death by three sisters, Evon Draughn, Michalene Leftwich, Bernice Leftwich; a brother, J.C. Leftwich. Funeral services will be held at Oak Ridge Baptist Church on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 12:00 Noon with Rev. David Sechrist officiating. Burial will follow in the Leftwich Family Cemetery.
