Mr. Bill Underwood

Mr. Bill G. Underwood, age 73 of Stuart passed away Tuesday at Northern Hospital in Mt. Airy, NC. He was born on July 13, 1935 to the late Oscar and Evie Bobbit Underwood. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Ordie Nunn Underwood; and one sister, Lettie Mae Willard. Mr. Underwood served in the US Army during the Korean War where he served as a combat medic for the 8th Infantry. He was a member and former chaplain with the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard and was a member and past post commander of VFW Post 8467.
Surviving are a son, Phillip Underwood of Mt. Airy, NC; two daughters, Robin Milette of Claudville, Gale Saunders of Mt. Airy, NC; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 18, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. Burial will follow in the Church of Christ Cemetery with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
