Mr. Billy Gene Hamm, age 62, of Dobson, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born December 30, 1954 in Grayson County, Virginia, to the late Bill and Lula Belle Hamm. He is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda Brooks Hamm; brothers and sisters, David Hamm of Charlotte, William Hamm of Rural Retreat, VA, Barbara and Jim Umberger of Sparta, Wilma Arnold of Rural Retreat, VA, Doris and the late Steve McFarlane of Rural Retreat, VA, Janie and Randy Brewer of Rural Retreat, VA, Linda and Charlie Duncan of Wytheville , VA, and Patricia and Mike Cline of Wytheville, VA.; sisters-in-law, Gail Snow of Dobson and Lynn Brooks of Sparta; step-son Jamie Brown of Dobson; step-daughter, Renae Hodges of Dobson; step-grandchildren, Hannah Brown of Lowgap, Dakota Hodges, Kendall Hodges and Caleb Hodges of Dobson. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be Monday, October 2, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson. The funeral will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 3, 2017 in the Moody-Davis Chapel with Reverend Blain Oakley and Reverend Brian Pack officiating. Burial will follow in Laurel Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Moody-Davis Funeral Service, PO Box 295, Dobson NC 27017, to help with final expenses.
