Mr. Billy Joe Hitchings
Mr. Billy Joe Hitchings, age 52, of Dobson, passed away Thursday February 9, 2017 at Hugh Chatham Medical Center. He was born April, 30 1964 in Ohio, to the late Ronald and Hannah Hitchings. He was a truck driver for Cardinal Glass and a member of Copeland Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Harris Hitchings of the home; daughters, Hannah Hitchings of the home, Emily Hitchings of Salisbury; step daughter and son-in-law, Cassie Childress Pike and Chris Pike of Elkin; son, Billy Hitchings Jr of the home; step son, Kendall Childress of Ararat; step grandchildren, Chloe Childress and A.C. Pike, of Elkin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Johanna and David Straight of Massillon, Ohio, Cathy Lorson, of Massillon, Ohio and Carolyn and Steve Satterfield of Summerfield, NC; brothers and sister–in-law, Mark Hitchings and his fiancé, Lisa Walker of Massillon, Ohio, Ike Hitchings of Massillon, Ohio and Ronnie and Lynne Harris, of Winston Salem, NC; several nieces and nephews; many special friends and his wonderful church family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ron Hitchings Jr. Visitation will be Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 2-3 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson. A Memorial Service will follow at 3 PM in the Moody-Davis Funeral Chapel with Pastor Kenny King officiating. He left this world doing what he loved and he was happy. He was very loved, and he knew it. His family and friends meant The world to him. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Copeland Baptist Church, 169 Stony Knoll Road, Dobson, NC 27017
