Mr. Billy Calvin White

Mr. Billy Calvin White, 68, of Dobson passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Joan and Howard Woltz Home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Surry County on December 6, 1944 to the late Marvin Calvin White and Raynelle Fowler White Shields. Mr. White was a farmer and a devoted family man who dedicated his life to the service of the Lord, his family and community. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of forty-nine years, Carolyn Brindle White of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Christopher and Rebecca Bryant White; a daughter, Jennifer Ann White, all of Dobson; his mother, Raynelle Fowler White Shields and three grandchildren, whom he adored, Bryant Christopher White, Brittany Lynn White, Carson James White and many close friends. In addition to his father, Mr. White was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Vernon White. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Tuesday March 19, 2013 at Gospel View Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member as long as his health permitted, by Rev. Jerry Sizemore, Rev. Tony White and Rev. Christopher White with burial will follow in Welcome View Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 1 pm until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Joan and Howard Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road Dobson, NC 27017. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Wake Forest Baptist Oncology of Elkin and the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home for the loving and compassionate care shown to Mr. White and his family during his illness.
