Mr. Bob Glenn "Tommie" Parries age 99 of 2057 McBride Road, Mt. Airy, NC husband of Mrs. Nettie Opal Adams Parries passed away Tuesday night at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Parries was born August 28, 1912 in Surry County to the late John and Eliza Belton Parries. He was retired from the NC Granite Corporation and was a member of Bannertown Baptist Church. Surviving is his wife of 72 years, Mrs. Nettie Adams Parries of the home, a daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia and Glenn 'Bud" Inman, Pilot Mountain, three sons and two daughters-in-law, Dale and Margaret Parries, Pilot Mountain, Bob and Carol Parries, Myrtle Beach, SC, and David Parries, Mt. Airy, four grandchildren, Gigi Inman, Pilot Mountain, Kim Davis, Leesburg, GA, Julie Thomas and husband, Jerald, Johnson City, TN and Melanie Rodgers, Sanford, five great grandchildren, Coleman and Lizzy Davis, Lauren and Meredith Thomas and Amanda Rodgers, three sisters and a brother-in-law, Virginia Massey, Mt. Airy, Ruby Goins, High Point and Ruth and Robert Thacker, Stuart, FL., several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Parries was preceded in death by four sisters, Sallie Glidewell, Ada McBride, Evelyn York, and Lou Cole and three brothers, Dennis Parries, Joe Bill Parries and Jack Parries.. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Rusty Reed and Rev. Milton Sewell. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Friday at Moody Funeral Home.
