Mr. Bobby Spurgeon Adams

Mr. Bobby Spurgeon Adams, age 74 of Dobson, NC passed away on Wednesday September 4, 2013 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born in Surry County on December 16, 1938 to the late B.S. and Tallie Burton Adams. He was a member of Union Cross Baptist Church, a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and Trustee of the Church. He was a charter member of Union Cross Ruritan Club and on the Board of Directors of Surry Yadkin Electric Membership Corp for over Thirty Six Years, and a Veteran of the US Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law Evelyn Collins and Grady Collins; two sisters-in-law Jo Adams and Ella Adams. Surviving is his wife Betty Lawrence Adams of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law Susan and Kevin Simpson of Dobson, Tonya and Corey Gammons of Mt. Airy, NC; three grandsons Tyler Johnson, Bailey Johnson, and Dylan Simpson; two sisters and brothers-in-law Virginia and Jack Stroud of Dobson, Dot and Charles Perkins of Dobson; three brothers and one sister-in-law Fred and Sandra Adams of Clemmons, Don Adams of Dobson, Charles Adams of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday September 7, 2013 at Union Cross Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Bill Faw and Rev. Darrell Hall will conduct the services with speaker Fred Adams. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Flowers will be accepted or memorials maybe made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017 or to the Children Center of Surry PO Box 692, Dobson, NC 27017.
