Mr. Bobby Rudell Cave, age 60, of Dobson, NC passed away on Tuesday evening October 24, 2017 at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Surry Co. on December 5, 1956 to the late Herman Rudell and Pauline Hodges Cave. Bobby was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Pam and was a loving father and Papa who treasured spending time with his family—especially his four grandsons. He will be remembered best by those who knew him as a gentle soul with a contagious laugh and as someone who enjoyed spending time with friends and family, attending games played by his grandsons, playing rook and traveling to his favorite vacation spot of Pigeon Forge, TN. Bobby was an exceptional father who taught his sons the core values of life through his honesty, integrity, hard work and perseverance. He will also be remembered as someone that could fix almost anything and was a constant wealth of knowledge for his sons anytime a problem arose where help was needed. He was a retired rural mail carrier who dedicated 28 years of his life to serving the Dobson community. He was a humble man that impacted the lives of far more people than he realized. Bobby will be truly missed by all who knew him. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 37 years, Pam Nations Cave of the home: two sons and daughter-in-law, Jason Dale Cave of Dobson, Joshua Brian and Bobbi Ruel Cave of Tobaccoville; four grandsons, Jordan, Brian, Jackson, and Ethan Cave; sister and brother-in-law, Anne and Russell Sechrist of Dobson; brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Jane Cave of Dobson, NC; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hugh and Inez Nations of Elkin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Patricia and Donnie Chaffin of Mocksville; adoptive family, Tim and Kathy Atkins, Chuck and Kim Burton; many cousins, nieces, nephews and beloved friends and coworkers.
