Mr. Bobby Joe Gordon

Mr. Bobby Joe Gordon, age 80, of Mt. Airy, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Gordon was born in Surry County on March 16, 1935 to Reid and Betty Reddick Gordon. He was the owner and operator of Gordon’s Mobile Home Park and a former truck driver for Hennis Freight Lines with over twenty years of service. Surviving is his devoted wife, Imogene Noah Gordon; a son, Bobby Wayne Gordon; grandson Travis Wayne Gordon and wife, Heather; great grandchildren, Bobbi Makenzie and Ty Reid; and one sister, Wanda Chandler. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gordon was preceded in death by a brother, Dillard Gordon. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 25, 2016 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Slate officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5:30 until 7:30 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. A private entombment will be held later at Skyline Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials to be made to the American Heart Association, National Center, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX. 75231.
