Mr. Bobby Ray Jones, Sr

Mr. Bobby Ray Jones, Sr. 59, of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. He was born in Surry County on November 1, 1957 to Hurley Gray Jones and the late Gladys Clement Richardson. Mr. Jones was a self-employed truck driver. In addition to his father, Mr. Jones is survived by sons, Bobby and Dixie Jones, Daniel Jones and girlfriend, Christy Robertson, James Slate, Corey Jones and wife Amy; seven grandchildren, Katie, Brandon, Macie, Madison, Jaylyn, Kyra, and Ali; sisters, Melinda Jones, Tina Jones, and Shelia Myers; a brother, Reid Jones; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his Mother, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife, Venus Louis Jones. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home with the Rev. Butch Holder officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
