Mr. Bobby Louis Simmons, 81, of Mt. Airy passed away Monday, November 2, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Surry County on January 14, 1934 to the late Robert and Lettie Gravely Simmons. Mr. Simmons was owner and operator of United Used Auto Parts. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all his family and many friends. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He is survived by his loving wife, Imogene Leftwich Simmons; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Eric Hobernicht, Barbara and Kenny Vaughn, Anita Davis; a step-son, Jimmy Leftwich; grandchildren, Caleb Hobernicht, Connor Hobernicht, Tyler Vaughn and wife Emily, Ashley Lowe and husband Matt, Andrew Vaughn, Hannah Davis, Holly Davis, Austin Davis, and Alex Davis; great grandchildren, Colton Vaughn and Hunter Ward; sisters and brothers,-in-law, Helen and Ronnie Davis, Judy Puckett; a brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Barbara Simmons; his special dog, Mack. In addition to his parents, Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Wayne Davis; sisters, Dollie Tate, Mary Haynes, Doris Bingman, and Ruby Gammons. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 2:00 PM at White Plains Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Hawks, and the Rev. David Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
